December 2007 of Harper Magazine has an article titled:
"Through a Glass, Darkly:
How the Christian Right is Reimagining American History"
It seems that what I heard was a comentary on the article.

Its political undertones can be offensive but even more was what seemed to be a radical stance against Christianity of the author. The commentary is written as the monologue of an extremist Christian right-wing hater thinking about the article written by a moderate Christian right-wing hater. In the end, I was pleased by the conversation because it was a new perspective for me.
Even though a difficult reading (emotionally) for me, I am glad I finished the commentary. I hope to read the actual article soon. It seems that extreme thinking is not just purview of non-Christian fanatics but of fanatics of any kind - such as the members of The Family.
