I was thinking about that old classic film about a Quaker family coming to terms with different values when faced with Civil War issues. My son in law made his decision and to a large degree it was based on the perks offered by the military. I know that right now, the holidays are a hard time for those over in Iraq because the holidays remind them of what they are missing: Their families and loved ones.
