Jewlz, as far as my conversion is concerned...you got it wrong & I think it might be the same for many, if not all in principle...when I got approached by Christians...first a classmate of mine at 17...then of TF with 20...I had little to no knowledge about Jesus...the "character of the book"...I hardly had paid attention in religion, in school that is, neither did I later read in the Bible nor before...just a bit in the book of Job.
When I met someone of TF, I was really desperate for the truth, would have otherwise gone to India or elsewhere to find "the truth"...as I was more familiar with those religions or at least got myself all the more familar with it.
The prayer I did on the street you seem to be familiar with...I hung onto that love I got filled with, to that faith, although it got mightily dragged through the gutters of TF.Salvaging that faith was a big job after TF, but I can assure you, I wouldn't want to trade that with anything I see in the world, nor do I think, that you have any bright idea, what you could offer me in exchange...with 51 years of age you could trust me, that I have seen quite a bit...as a matter of fact, materialism gets worse all the time & before I joined, I hated materialism.
Sorry, what values are you talking about, which could interest me??????
