I believe in a Great Creator. I can accept that Jesus lived and was a great teacher, along with many others throughout the ages. But the Christian beliefs in the Bible that I had when I was a Family member are no longer there.

Mother Teresa and others like her are real heroes for me too.

When I was in the Balkans, still doing the part time humanitarian work that a lot of Family members do, mostly for photo opportunities, I met people that worked for doctors without borders. They were very busy people and they got a lot done.

The best thing that I did when I was in the Balkans was being a rebel in terms of Family Charter rules. We had two girls on our team who ended up getting married to two fine wonderful men that they met while we were there. First was a wonderful Albanian sister who helped us lot, she met a man who was working as a de-miner with a big NGO. With her it wasn't so much of a problem as she was not yet a full time "disciple", so when she wanted to go out with him she wasn't really breaking the rules. But we were supposed to be the "shepherds" and supposedly we should have been training her to be a disciple and not let her love for this man lead her away from the Family. The result of us being such "hirelings" ...she's now still happily married and she has children.

A little later on, a wonderful SG teamworker who was on our team fell in love with a wonderful English officer and gentleman, and when he invited her out, who were we to object? We thought it was a great thing, love is such beautiful thing, and we really liked him too. They're happily married now too, and not long ago they sent us pictures of their beautiful first child. Can you imagine how lame that would have been if we would have tried to "counsel" her and pray with her and say, "No you can't go out with him, you always have to go 2 by 2 anyway, you're not allowed to date, these are the Charter rules, and we have to forsake all to be a real disciple" ...all that blah blah blah.

As evidenced by our waywardness and failure to be "good shepherds" as related in the anecdotes above, you can imagine what kind of path towards the Dark Kingdom we were on, ...the best one of all ...within months we left the Family too.
