Susie, I used you in the context of atheists, but honestly I never was sure what I am at with you
; ) I know, that OT2 often adressed you that way,...I thought, he wanted to "provoke" a reaction from you, may be??
I admit, that labels are really a poor way of describing someone...putting someone in a box...which that person might outgrow sooner or later...However, Christians get very quickly labelled too, as stupid & lacking the skill to see the "deception & forgery" in the Bible...it's not an easy book, granted, but the same problem have the critics.
I appreciate, that you're very direct & outspoken & that no one has to hit around the bush with you either...
I know many are "happy" in the "agnostical corner"
so to speak...I also don't know a multitude of things...so who is actually not also an agnostic?
There was a time, where I questioned , whether I am at all a Christian...a disciple...a follower of Christ...I felt/feel following super afar off...but I realise, that there is always a chance to "pick up" some more speed.
It was important for me to "know" what I believe & what I don't....to also know, why some can't believe something I do...
to even get an idea about the very many different interpretations of "the Christians" (whatever that exactly is) of divers denominations.
Labelling is after all not so precise...but we use it sometimes for communications sake, as a shortcut...
However sometimes there are also facts:
being married...being pregnant...being hungry or not...thirsty or not...often it can be decided, what someone is or isn't...and sorry, it looks to me, that the question, whether there is a creator or no one could be/should be decided some day in our life...& in that regard the agnostic I prefer...the atheist displays a certainty, that there is no God...but how did he/she check that out???
