I really like your last paragraph & agree with it .... since I left 15 years ago, I have committed myself in not only scrutinising my old believes, Bibleteachings, but also the diverse mainstream or
"sidestream" congregations/denominations.
I had longstanding/longlasting reservations towards many of the "right" spectrum of the faith...fundamentalists...of the Darby/brethren-type for heavily critisizing the charistmatic
movements...but I have more & more come to see, that the fruit is often too bad to overlook it, be it the Toronto-blessing (airport-community)...
Hagin...Hinn & Co....I have read too much, which appalled me...
It goes back to it's roots, the "outpouring" at the de Souza street...Los Angeles at the beginning of the last century.
It also pays to have a closer look at the Kuhlmanns & Amy Mc what's her name?...to whose grave Hinn seems to have been attracted etc.
The reports of immorality gaining ground in the midst of these meetings "slain by the spirit" etc.
are well reported.
It's tragical, that TF tried/tries "badly" (in the full sense of it) to be a "spearhead" of the
charismatic movements. As you might know K.Kuhlmann
later joined the Catholic Church & there are anyway some interdenominational links.
However, I think even the "weirdest" charismatics
would have big reservations towards the false freedom of TF...I agree there with you too...
yet it's important to know that TF is the worst offspring of the charismatic movement.
