Okay, this is a different subject, but another common basic Christian belief that many but not all Christians believe, is that human beings are the only creatures who possess a soul.
When I realize how animals have emotions and often give their lives for humans, it seems pretty arrogant to say the spirit of the beast goes into the earth *dead and that is it*, but the spirit of man goes to heaven. or something like that.
Buddism and Hinduism seem to make more sense to me when it comes to animals.
