Dear H. As far as I know (some about JW), they argue, that it is forbidden to "drink/eat" blood, taking anything to you with blood, as that is written in the Bible,
(so it's rather not such a good exsample of yours, you could have used modern technology etc., much is not written in the Bible. My stance was about a basic principle, that to adhere to....to what is explicitly written for us, like the things Paul said e.g.)...it's starts early with Genesis 9:4...by the way the Chines seem to obey verse 3 a lot ; )

For one it's debatable, whether it's eating/drinking blood etc....plus doctors know meanwhile some way out, like having your own blood
as a reservoir at a blood bank or some artificial blood etc. I'd say, if I can prevent it avoid it, I don't...I used to dislike & still dislike not thorougly cooked/stewed/fried meat & all those delicacies I can do without.I see it as a blessing, not to come into a situation you described (health has a lot to do with a obedience, sanity in heart & mind)...but if one is in that situation, it doesn't happen to be an unpardonable sin IMO...Witness Lee said the unpardonable sin was only possible at Jesus time...Jesus performing a miracle & the scribes & Pharisees said it happened by the chief of the devils...therewith blaspheming
the Holy Spirit....etc.
And yes I go visit doctors at times...
