From where I come from, we bracket the term "end times" between the resurrection of Christ and the second coming. As John says in the epistle, this is the last time. Right now we are "living righteous and godly in this present evil world, looking for the glorious appearing." You might say the End of the World happened about 2000 years ago, and we are now in the mopping up period.
There's more, but the unlearning part is long, and this is a start.
