I ran into a member of "The Family" recently and on the surface he seemed very nice and he gave me some literature. Once I read the literature I could see that they are false prophets right away.
To really know Christ all one has to do is pray to him and ask that Him to come into your heart and take over. At this point, you can repent of your sin and a new life will begin. To truly understand the gospels,one only needs to ask the Holy Spirit to reveal the meaning and READ THE BIBLE!
The scary thing is that those who have never taken these steps and dont really know Christ would not know the difference between a correct interpretation of scripture and a false one. These guys use all the same Bible verses true Christians do, but they twist the meanings and apply them where they don't belong, which is pure blasphemy! Then the use scriptures to justify all kinds of nasty behaviour, which is pure evil!
I have a strong personal relationship with Jesus and know that you would not need to join man-made groups like this, even if they were on track. On Judgement day, Jesus will look at these people and say "I never knew you" because they really don't know Him. They only know the jesus that they have created, a false one...
These guys and the money hungry evangelists and so called "healers" are why Christians have been given such a bad rap. I wish more people could put these idiots aside and just read the Bible. Then, try to meet a few real Christians. If someone claims they are a Christian and then starts asking you for money or to do things that just feel wrong, you should run away from them as fast as you can, for they too are false prophets.
I sold my house and gave away all my possessions in California. I made no money off the house or the posessions. Then my wife and I along with our 5 children moved to Africa 2 months ago. We are living amongst the poorest of the poor, caring for orphans, widows, and anyone else God puts in our path. Are we doing this for our own credit or glory? If we were, I would probably put my name in this message. All the credit and Glory goes to God. What we are doing for these people is not of our own goodness, but out of the Love of Christ which He has placed in our hearts.
Avoid these crazy groups and Big corporate religions and all their denominations. All they do is complicate a very simple message from God. They distract you with rituals and rules that are not in the Bible. Think about it, would God write a collection of over 60 books through over 30 authors, written over the course of a thousand plus years and leave something out? Everything you need to know about how we should live here and how we can accept the grace God offers us and eventually go to heaven is in the Bible. Anyone who adds to it is trying to sell you something or trying to control you for their own deceitful purposes.
Try Jesus for free! Read through the following prayer. Make sure you believe with all of your heart that it is true. Then pray it out loud to God. The moment you are finished praying this you will become one of His children. From this day forward, your real life will begin to unfold - the life you were born to live. Tell someone else about your new relationship with the Lord and share the Love that He will show you!
A PRAYER TO START A NEW LIFE
Lord, Jesus
I am calling out to You now as a sinner,
as someone who will be lost forever without You.
I believe that you are the Son of God
and that You are God.
I believe that You died on the cross
and paid the price for our sins
and that You were resurrected from the dead.
I believe that accepting Your sacrifice
will allow me to have eternal life.
I ask You now Jesus to come into my heart
and to be the Lord of my life.
I ask You to give me direction in life
and to lead me away from evil.
My life now belongs to You Father.
I pray all of this in Jesus' name!

If you prayed this and you believed it in your heart, you are now part of the real Family of Jesus. You have brothers and sisters all over the world. You don't need to join a hippie commune or do anything that your conscience tells you is wrong. For, your conscience is God's voice. Does this mean you have to be perfect and never sin again? That is not even possible for man, but with God's help you will sin less and less and the severity of the sins you struggle with will be lessened as well. We will always struggle with sin though. We are not to wallow in guilt over it, just ask for forgiveness and try to get rid of it. We wont be sin free until after we die though. Until then, we do our best and as long as we are repenting and trying, God will keep forgiving us and accepting Jesus' sacrifice as payment for our sins.
Find a church or group of believers that is Bible based and does not try to add rituals and rules to the Bible. We don't need to pray to anyone else for intercession either. This is not Biblical. The Bible cleary states that we can pray directly to Jesus right now wherever you are. You do not need to try to be a better person before you come to him either. He wants us to come just as we are and then He will start to cause change in us from within.
May the Lord Bless all of you who hear these words and receive them. And for those who don't, I pray that you meet a true Christian someday and that he or she can help you understand what it means to be one...
