Blues is generally depressing for me. Apart from B.B. King who uses bursting, rhythmic yet soulful phrases in his singing and playing, I can't stand listening to the Blues too much. Especially British Blues--yuck! That's like pseudo-Blues to me. Uplifting blues may be a contradiction in terms, but when it's mixed with Gospel, Accoustic Folk or old-school R&B then it's really enjoyable. A similar artist to Keb' Mo' is Eric Bibb. Check him out!
