It makes us think and ask ourselves about those who heard and received the Gospel and, joining or not, allowed the Word of God to grow in their heart later. I know of such people for whom somebody in the family was their bridge.
Some would argue that these people would have come to know God some other way. Why! Of course, God is not bounded to land, air or sea, but that doesn't seem to be the point of the post.
I don't think that saying God led us to join the family is validating Berg but it actually validates God and His wonderful work in us. Berg's relationship with God is not that important because at the end it is your own, our own, mine and each person's relationship with God what is important.
