I agree, and suspect that the majority of people who go into some ministry are well intended and have their heart in the right place. I still like Reagans's "Trust but verify" re: my stewardship. I was surprised to find out that I am living in what used to be the house of a preacher of an important denomination with large membership church. It is a modest house and he lived here for 30 years and then went to care for his mother in another state. That stressed my conviction that not all shepherds must live in mansions or have an abundance of worldly goods. Thank god for the genuine, over the table, clear and transparent Christian policy men and women of the Church.
