The Christian landscape in America is very complex. That is the extent of my knowledge and I am not interested in increasing it but I am not opposed to learn more about it either. I have views similar to those you express.
My opinion is that so much is not explicit in the Bible that there is a lot of room for interpretations. The number of denominations prove this point to me. Isn't that what is said to be "splitting hairs"?
So far I haven't read anything that even remotely touches how TF was not importing Christianity American-style into foreign countries. You identified the language, English, as part of this cultural invasion, and I agree with it, but there was and is more, much more. I'd even say all of it.
