Thanks for the reply...kind of my turf ; ) ...however in any attempt to recommmend Indian movies (difficult enough as they have at least 600 new movies per year - Bollywood alone!? - not to mention "Tolly"wood of southern India etc.), it'd be good to narrow down the preferrences, themes looked for, e.g. Indian action movies are almost hilarious in their attempt to look real, Hollywood is lightyears ahead in that genre, same goes for Kung Fu-action-movies of HongKong & alike, but since I am not really interested so much in that, I have hardly those kind of "masala"-films...in the nineties basically started a new age of romance/triangle sort of movies....hardly mixed with violence, the ordeal for love to overcome all kind of obstacles is heart-wrenching enough...that's where I am pretty much in the know...other films are a bit of an expose of Indian corruption, some have ethnical/religious clashes as a theme & that's where I could recommence also some. Some otherwise good movies get unnecessarily "interrupted" by scenes with the Indian "comedian" Johnny Lever...he's seldom funny for my taste & in the internet you find similar critique/comments...on the other hand you have hardly any Bollywood movie without
singing & dancing, it's like Singing in the rain & Fred Astaire ad infinitum...some dancers, like Madhuri Dixit (living with her hubby & kids in the States)are stunningly good, besides she has an amazing smile & warmth....there are few very good movies, who just focus only on the story & dialogue...if you could say, what genre you don't like at all, then it'd be easier...I have a swiss based film-data base I often consult in choosing movies, but the critique of that website-runner is often very different from my opinion...I found out...I shall find a good Indian/English one, if you like....recently I also just find new movies, by using youtube...
