Thanks. I'm checking out the links now. Yes, feel free to recommend something you like. There must be some real Bollywood jewels. I won't lie, I do enjoy Hollywood, but their formula for what makes a good movie makes almost everything they come up with too predictable. I've taken to an interest in British films as well as "art" films which are often just foreign, non-Hollywood films. It's so nice to do without the standard car chase, explosions and violence as an answer to problems, or the America-saves-the-world theme.

Talking about Indian dances, many years ago I saw something on TV which had my mouth gaping in amazement. It was a lone, fast-footed Indian woman dancing on a bowl to some very complex rhythms without breaking it. She was balanced on the rim, rotating it and stamping on it so quickly and violently, in sync with tabla's thundering out rapid South Indian Solkathu's (8 beat rhythmic cycle where each beat is divided into quintuplets) and Upa Dasi's (10½ beat cycles). Have you ever seen anything like this in India?
