NT-wise there is also the counsel not to marry unbelievers...I personally have seen havoc created in a dear believers life...the intention was definetely to win that person to Christ, but after years & years that failed so far and ended in adultery...you can't beat the common counsel in the Word....of course it's also problematic, that many preachers/priests don't offer good marriage counsel anymore, apparently...I figure lots of them do the service out of duty, ignorance & plainly as a job for money....
