Farmer:

Yeah--I've been reading in 1st & 2nd Peter, Job, Philippians, James and so forth, lately.

I guess most of my focus has been that patience is required, and the grace for it supplied, in the face of trouble for both deserved and undeserved troubles that come our way (Peter and James).

Job had to be shown he was more self-righteous and arrogant than he had before assumed, and had "darkened the counsel of God", all of which ex-TFers identify with if they're honest, at all.

I've recently lost my 2nd marriage, and I swear it was NOT my fault--long story--I picked the 1st one in the cult, and the 2nd one seduced ME--how's that for ironic for a TF exer? I got dumped when I did not become her "shiner", but got very ill, instead--two malpractice-level diagnoses, one for a psychotropic med for a misdiagnosed depression, and the other for a statin that can easily kill 3% of those who take it, and nearly took my kidneys, and did seriously deform some muscle and connective tissue.

All that brought out a second very serious attempt at suicide--with a gun, this time. I've been through that lesson, now.

Acquiring the "mind" (attitude) that was in Christ Jesus", when He emptied Himself and came to earth is a wonderful, and lifelong, goal.

And James helps me endure trials, repent quickly, and generally do a better job, thank God, of just keeping my mouth shut, when appropriate.

Thanks for the reminder. You keep these Chat Boards refreshed, and I appreciate that.

Sincerely,
OT2
