Although in our societies people want priests to be there to fulfill certain social-service roles and to offer us guidance, like weddings, funerals and counseling, I believe it's the ordinary (read: non-missionary) people who do their thing just BEing themselves and a good example of their faith, who go furthest in doing what really matters, what really counts.

My own son was operated on by a surgeon, who was not a missionary, but who was a Christian and wanted to volunteer his services freely, no strings attached. He never even mentioned anything about his faith. He did his thing, and then out of immense gratitude and curiosity, I found out about his faith.
