Bollywood...Baabul...touching scenes...

Athough the board remains pretty quiet (regarding responses)...I just post it...also for my own/reference sake & anyone, who might visit here...

Very beautiful conversations...a beautiful song from a meaningful movie...except that I have my difficulties with Salman Khan (in the role of the first husband, who died in a car accident) in many of his bollywood-roles (there are some movies though, where he fits perfectly in my view, may be the girls/woman like him also more for his muscles??)...Baabul is about a father in law, who wants to bring back the joy in the life of his daughter in law, who grieves heavily about the loss of her former husband. The father in law advises to marry again , that is: her old time friend, who really always loved her & gave her up to see her happy with her former husband...John Abraham is much more sensitive in his character play...so I treasured only some parts very much of the movie...Custom in India has/had it for long, that a widow remains unmarried...dressed in white...

We have various/opinions/counsels in Paul's letters also regarding widows...and sometimes I am amazed, how much of the Indian habits do resemble biblical ones...one of my hobbies, to find out more about it.

In Baabul I really liked the counsel of the father in law 2:58 onward...which is counsel in general after deep sorrow (as for me, I wouldn't make it without HIS living water)

The song is also quite touching, it's a continuation of the one in the beginning of the movie...Amitabh as an actor did a nice job, singing that song himself

The end is also very touching...tradition vs. life....when hampering it (especially when it comes to the old Sati-tradition, literally being burned in the pyre with the husband...alive)...here the father argues, that Sati is still very much alive, by burying the widows "alive"....so a movie dealing with a social/traditional/religious aspect...
