I am extremely grateful that so few American and British soldiers were killed in this war. When you think about 290,000 troops and 105 American casualties and even less British, it makes me very thankful that this was not like Viet Nam. No one purposely killed their "friends" - can you imagine the grief they must feel having done so? That will be with them forever. Those are the tragedies of war, bad things happen. It is very sad, but it's an expected part of war. I can only think of one situation that I would say could be called carelessness, and I'm sure those people will live with that the rest of their lives. In my opinion, I believe they all died for a just cause, even if it was through the tragedy of friendly fire.

Of course, it is very, very tragic the Iraqi civilians were also killed. I don't blame that on the US or Britain. I blame that on Saddam. He was the one who used them as human shields, he fired on his own people and killed many who wanted to leave the cities or surrender. He prevented them from going to safer areas - and he knew exactly what he was doing. He knew that civilians would be killed, inevitably, by trying to use them as a wall of protection for himself. I wish it were possible for me to go and help in the hospitals there for the wounded, but my heart is there. I pray for the families of those who lost loved ones or were wounded. May the Lord give them peace and comfort their hearts.
