Reading "Mama" instead of "Karen Zerby" tickles my gag reflex--sorry ;-) They never even BEGAN as a true shepherds. They promised liberty, but were servants of corruption all along (see 2 Peer 2), from the very first, and you owe them no allegiance or even the least bit of respect. None.
I joined Nov. '71 & left Independence Day '74, and I'm living proof that it was worth it, that God cares and will take care of you no matter how misled you've been, what anyone else intends towards you, even outright evil, and that "you have no need that any one in particular teach you" (1Jn) but that God will, and that that's usually mostly common sense (being led by God's Spirit; that is.).
