I can really relate to what you are saying, but for me it is not just in the silence of the woods, which don’t get me wrong is wonderful. But in everyday life to follow the Lord in everything you do or at least try. To me that is all the Lord asks of us as Christians not so many rules about doing this and that, but follow the Lord as you see it. The Lord gave a scripture about that it says: The path of the just is as a shinning light that leadeth more and more to that perfect day. All I can say to you brother is Keep on Keeping on.
