This is a completely bullshit report.
India is the most pluralistic and tolerant place on earth. India is just geography. Within the boundaries of "India" there is no single unifying language, religion, ethnicity or culture. Every region is as different as can be. They were having trouble even settling on a language of administration. In just about every other country in the world, they draw a line and say, "within these borders, you will read write and speak the language of the central government," and minority cultures are marginalized as a result. In India this is simply not possible. And I saw Muslims going into Jain temples and Catholic churches, Hindus going into mosques to visit. I bought a mandala from a Muslim who was well-versed in Tibetan religious art and Buddhist philosophy.
Sure, there are fanatics who will shed blood over religion in India, and that happens daily in some troubled regions, but overall, no, it's not at all like the report states.
Just my two cents
