Good points. With usung the scripture from Matthew it does appear out of context and does difffer greatly from the Message translation. Most translations do refer to a narrow road, and I don't mean to use it as doctrine. I do speak of myself being narrow minded in this respect as the only way to the Father is to accept His Son. That is what I interpret from the canon as a whole. The way I see it Philippians 2:5-11 infers universal reconciliation whether it is done voluntarily or through judgement.

5Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:
6Who, being in very nature[a] God,
did not consider equality with God something to be grasped,
7but made himself nothing,
taking the very nature[b] of a servant,
being made in human likeness.
8And being found in appearance as a man,
he humbled himself
and became obedient to death—
even death on a cross!
9Therefore God exalted him to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name,
10that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.
(New International Version)

I do use the Message quite a bit and much of it I like. I have a Message/NIV parallel which I like to use.

The translation from the new testament is from Greek.

Well got to go to work.
