We will usually read a passage from several different translations before discussion. It may be that the word "sin" was not in the actual text but in the commentary/discussion that followed. Maybe some other word was in the actual text--like iniquity or transgression or something along those lines. Sorry, but I can't remember the text reference--this was several months ago.
