"Where is God When it Hurts?", and "Disappointment with God", by Yancey, are also very helpful books--they helped me a great deal. So was CS Lewis' "A Grief Observed".
A diagnosis of Bipolar Disorder and the proper medication also helped me get away from suicidal ideation and planning over the years, along with good counseling, including the kind an educated church acknowledges, where people realize the brain is also an organ which can become sick.
I wish Spirit-filled health for everyone. I believe it's the very best there is.
