I originally got this from a book I am now reading and from where I am putting together a study for my ministry at church. The book is called Sacred Marriage (What if God Designed Marriage to Make Us Holy More Than to Make Us Happy) by Gary Thomas on page 35. "According to pollster George Barna, self described "born again" Christians have a higher rate of divorce than non-believers (27% to 23%.) Those who adopt the label" fundamentalist Christian" have the highest divorce rate of all (30%)" Thomas cited this from Phillip Yancey's book, What's So Amazing About Grace for this. That is another book I am reading at this time, which looks at it from another perspective. Yancey ends the paragraph like this. "Unless our personal ethics rise above the level around us, we can hardly hope to act as a moral preservative." (pg. 263)
I went ahead and googled this and came up with this page which is interesting.
Now being involved in a marraige ministry I believe is going to present some challenges.
