When people get overly concerned about issues of church discipline, e.g., women preachers and homosexual members, it tends to becomes a reason to overlook the basics of Christianity and simply do what Jesus taught his followers to do. As long as I stay focused on ministering to disenfranchised members of society, caring for orphans and widows, sharing compassion with people who suffer, practising forgiveness, and lifting up Christ in a way that draws people to Him, it makes little or no difference to me who delivers the sermon on Sunday or who my brother or sister has chosen to love and cherish as a life companion.

This is what the pastor at my Vineyard teaches, and this is why I go there. If the message got any more complicated about who can be a member of the club or a leader, I would find another church home.
