Berg touted the "law of love" but he knew nothing about love. It's no wonder that many people, post-cult, either throw away religion altogether, or get rigidly on a narrow path trying not to displease a perfection demanding God.
I relate more to the first, though I did try the latter for awhile after leaving the cult.
I am at peace with not having to define "God", and I don't see the bible or any other religious text as being the words of "God" as he, she or it spoke them thru humans, like a puppet master utilizing automatic writings.
I don't say these things to describe what I think you are, or as an attempt to say how anyone else should believe. I say it to describe my own journey.
