The study by MW seems at to be a socalled purpose driven study. He is driving at a point and trying to make scripture fit in to support his take, his point, wresting, picking, omitting it in the process.
After all those years in TF I think it is fairly easy to smell a rat with an agenda. He seems to fit the bill nicely.
What does MW mean by repeatedly stressing that the Bible is silent about homosexual oprientation AS WE KNOW IT TODAY? What is he trying to say?
It is a matter of life and death he says and he keeps building up to some sort of climax that never came. Very cultish argumentation I say, appealing solely to one's emotions on the issue, forgetting some hard facts. Berg (TF leaders) was also very good at getting people emotionally carried away, bypassing, detaching the rational mind and volition. This is also what MW is doing.
Related, and this is not going to happen, but perhaps gays would need to learn to rein in and control their sexuality instead of parading it at every opportunity, in the most provokative manner possible. These people are not satisfied by being homosexual, they want to push it on everyone else too. Usually people reap what they sow so if they feel endangered, perhaps they may be partly to blame themselves.
Now dismissing MW and his message here is a far cry from turning gays (homosexuals) out of a fellowship, much less persecuting them. Genuinely seeking people are always welcome at the feet of Christ, but let us not be silly and ignorant here. While we were yet sinners Christ died for us, and that includes everyone, so there is no reason to feel better or righteous about it.
