I spoke up about one subject solely because I personally don't see a natural minority orientation as being sin any more than I'd see it as a sin for a bi-sexual to choose to commit to a same sex relationship.
Or even to choose an open relationship. I'm not the moral police and don't want to be, though I have personal views about that and it wouldn't be my preference. I don't want to convince others to view things my way. I just wanted to voice a viewpoint that indicates there are varying views about sexuality, spirituality or on any given subject, post cult, and it varies within this group of people who post or read here who were once in TF/COG. In the cult, everything was defined for everyone including what political viewpoints to have, what morality to have (or not have), what clothes to wear and how to behave in pretty much every way. Post cult, I have tried on different clothes, journeys, politics and have been finding out what fits for me. One size does not fit all.
I don't believe Jesus is Lord and Savior. I do believe he was a very spiritual person who had a lot of good things to say. I don't believe he was born of a virgin or that he turned water into wine or multiplied fish and loaves. I do believe he touched a lot of people because of his teachings of forgiveness and the parables he is said to have spoken, are good lessons.
I don't have any religion I adhere to, but I feel comfortable with that. It's what fits for me, at least at this time. One size does not fit all.
I wish you well on your own journey and I can say that I am glad that we both found our way out of the COG fog.
