Salvation

Salvation is eternal, which means that it has no end. Does it follow then that we have lived forever? Meaning that there is no beginning? In that case, how come we need to be "saved"? we "need" to "do" something to be "saved"... to be "born again"? If it is eternal, aren't we saved since the beginning of time?

I am talking about something along the lines of: 1Pt.5:10. "But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you".

1 Jn.1:2. "(For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)"
