My position, and what caused me to leave TF, was that I am not a Calvinist--it came along in the early 1500s, and it's not found in Scripture. Unlike them I do not believe, any more, that you can come to the real Jesus, live like hell, and still expect heaven.
Also, I have seen others, like my very intelligent, and, like me, Type I Bipolar sister, "use and abuse" the basic tenets of AA; to just switch basic addictions, lie to oneself and others, and talk the talk without walking the walk. To some it's a useless religious practice changiing little or nothing. It does help some; yes, but in the low success/high recidivism numbers.
I am not in need of any illumination or info about them; thanks, with all due respect. I don't necessarily consider the "wide circle that includes more people" spiritually beneficial.
It might get you clean and sober (and the majority for only a while--one has to get real with the numbers), or help you cease "medically re-defined" behaviors"; yes. Usually the problem is a refusal to call sin what it is, and get God's real solution, which takes real humility, which few actually like.
But, because of 1Cor 6 and Gal 5, I must warn fellow beilievers/ex-believers/seekers that you can go to hell sober OR substance/behavior-addicted, along with deception about the unrepentant behavior/sin lists there.
We still need Jesus as Savior AND Lord; and I DON'T mean the TF jesus (1 Cor 11).
Respectfully,
OT2
