OT2...with all due respect...I also happen to know the arguments on both sides...the scriptures...and just let me say that, I put the whole "caboodle" on a shelf...knowing/believing, that with lots of timededication the problems could be solved to enough peace and satisfaction...unless the whole thing should belong more to the things seen darkly (1.Cor.13)...
For me it's more of a "luxury-theme"...because as long as you believe in Christ...you're in HIM...whether in the Arminian fold or the Calvinistic...so for believing folks it's more of
"non-practical" matter...The strange observation is, that Calvinists thrive/grow in winning Christians from other folds to their take....
I did list a website...where the opposite has happened.
In all fairness, I'd say it'd be better to wait until mir is back from the summer-camp
I did share my conviction, that Calvinism has too many weaknesses...to further attracting me...and if I may say that...everyone should be allowed to have his own heureka-experience...if you had it wonderful...but for me I think...if I want to prove to myself the wrongness of Calvinism....I will just list up all the verses again...all the passages...read good exegetic experts on it and then "have it"....like for the subject:divorce...remarriage....that was far more
down to earth for me and something very urgent...the predestnation etc. theme is somewhat "in the air"...if you know what I mean...
One thing you have not answered though...how someone can "spiritually" die (after being born again)...there is a reference in revelation (3:1)
adressed to born again people I assume...
That is something mir didn't discern carefully in the reply...for one can be dead in sin before coming to Christ and that is something not spiritually yet...for the person is not yet born again...or not??
Please do consider Romans 8:11
For another view is also this dear OT2...Paul did not have an exact overview/sight...who is who in Corinth...(other than with the Philippians ...as I mentioned before)...therefore...real born again people repent...one could argue...the others, who continue in their sin until their dieing day...weren't really born again??!!That is some take I myself thought and have seen others voicing just the same...that would not render the warning chapter of 1.Cor.6 "useless"...but rather
"fitting in"
Just to say...I do have reflected about the various implications...sovereignity of God...vs. freedom...vs. sinning though believing etc...just
accept it until there...if you can.
