Thanks, cb for helping me out in the word-diversities...I think the English have about the biggest vocabulary, incorporating about anything from the past from Greek to Latin to French...some German to... wherever they later sailed to or with whomever they made business with...quite impressive...even kind of an argument why I joined: it was international
Anyway..I do remember "bootylicious" or some "makeup"-word of such sorts, then I even think it served in the docking-process of the spaceshuttle at some times ???Might remember wrong though?
By the way, do you remember the TF-song about the little robot...being Maria...stemming of course from some older letter...it had some catchy tune, with a "robotic" message...I think I've seen a link on xfam yesterday on the Maria-info-page...not important, but good as you were, you left sooner, earlier than me, so you might not remember that part??
You don't have the stomach for the reading of that stuff???...I can understand you...I rarely to almost never read their stuff...go by memory...just for the gist of things...here I have just glanced through the membership-reboot-file and a little bit through that law of love-monster
I just wanted to know by speed reading: pro or contra...nothing more than that...to my dismay I found out, they are still pro...
I figure...it's really the thing which is giving them the "structure" of what they really are...one main dogma...one which identifies them and really still distances them from mainstream Christianity....something which alarms me about them...seriously
Here's what I find hilarious...or rather sad...taken from the reboot-series...their "experts" now went over the subject again...
greeeeeeat : ( Folks you don't have to screen your Bible...we did it for you again...you're 40 years in TF and may be you still read your Bible (and still don't get it to leave!!!)...and we have settled that for you...rest assured also for the future (until your dieing day, without repenting)...grief
"Peter and I have reviewed whether the application of the Law of Love to sexual relations is doctrinally sound, according to Scripture. We have discussed this topic with our counselors and others who are well versed in Bible knowledge. We have reviewed the scriptures and the Letters, as well as prayed and asked the Lord about this, and we have concluded that the allowance for the application of the Law of Love to sexual relations is legitimate doctrinally for the Family today and in the future."
I recently went after a long time again to my favourite bookshop...books new...much reduced...I got among others a 3 volume series about the Gnosis...translations of the early churchfathers to coptic variations the mandean parts up to Manichean stuff...
I have some others since long, but this is the most detailed so far...it's inspiring to strange to read that...it's also TF who gloried themselves in their special knowledge...the gnostics were either very libertinistic, to the great dismay of the churchfathers (and I think it already started at the apostolic times)...or very ascetic
The Manichean-part and introduction showed me at last, where the link to India could be from...although the legend of Thomas might be true anyway to great parts???
Anyway...after leaving TF, what concerned me most was, where did I get off the track, where TF and where even the church...besides where is the world off the track...but that I kind of knew even before, even if you discover all the time some new atrocities.
What I am a bit "frustrated with" is...TF reads the boards, but doesn't get my point...I feel insulted ; )
Seriously, they are tough cases...wanting at all costs their cherished liberties...
What struck me after leaving, that there is...from all I remember...only one verse in the whole Bible...not even the Song of Solomon...where it talks about eros in the Septuagint...NT not at all
eros vs. agapae TF doesn't get it....as beautiful as eros is in it's confinements: marriage....plus loyality/fidelity
