The difference between German Bible-scholars...even the catholic ones... and the US-ones is foremost for me that:...it's not the language and hermeneutical skill etc....but,many seem to me just to be unbelievers/sceptics with just a scientific/theological skill...whereas in the US it seems you still have a greater number of believing profs....I go by the amount of defending the Word of God and if it is too lame, as in the German case often - except for the Bible-colleges, geared to suit the demand of free churches - then I disregard that teaching...it's more the school of 100 or more years ago, which had a sounder theology
