Something else to keep in mind: I have advanced degrees in social work & mental health, not theology or biblical studies. One of the main things I learned from my education in social science is how much I don't know. I hesitate to go into great depth on theological & biblical topics because I haven't studied that much. I'm just now getting back into scripture study after many years of mostly doing devotional reflection.
I do read your posts back to me, Farmer, and follow some of the links and think about some of your ideas--the ones I understand. Truth is, you've read a whole lot more than I have on may religious topics, and some subjects (such as pre-tribulation rapture) are of little interest to me because I don't believe people can predict future events by interpreting apocryphal scripture that way. I think it is by looking back and reflecting on historical events that we see how prophesy has been or is being fulfilled. It wasn't until after Jesus died and rose from the dead that he opened his disciples' eyes to a proper understanding of the messianic prophesies in Isaiah.
