If you're interested in understanding more about the historical authenticity of Christianity and/or you'd really like to have more objective information about the origins of the books found in the New Testament, there is a three-volume series on "Christian origins and the question of God" done by a guy named NT Wright, who also happens to be the Bishop of Durham.
The above-mentioned books are scholarly and exhaustive in their use of historical methods to examine the evidence and claims of the New Testament writers. A less daunting work by NT Wright on the historical origins of Christianity is "The Challenge of Jesus: Rediscovering Who Jesus Was and Is."
Wright also wrote a very logical, well-reasoned explanation of Christianity called "Simply Christian: Why Christianity Makes Sense." Wright doesn't say, "I know because I believe." He says, "I believe because it makes sense, the evidence adds up to this conclusion."
I don't think you can get answers to rather complicated questions about the trustworthiness and authenticity of the New Testament on a bulletin board. It's a place to begin looking, perhaps, if indeed you're questioning everything, even your own doubts.
