I don't necessarily see prayer as an emotional thing either, but the cool thing is that it's a very personal thing and we can all relate to God in the way that's comfortable and works for us: MG and I less emotional, MV more emotional. Sincerity seems to be the main big thing and beyond that any personal style is up to the individual.
Kathy says she often quotes Scripture when praying for a specific need, and I sometimes do that too. Not in my regular quiet times where it's meditation, but in times of need. I really identify with those nature walks you talk about, MG. My grandfather used to say that all nature is God's Cathedrale.
