just give me some time - i will get this story out. im sorry ive just dangled the carrot. the reason this has become all so fresh again is because of a tape my mums friend found - almost 20 yrs later. Upon my return from japan WITH my baby son - every magazine, tv station, radio, newspaper wanted the story. i declined all offers. i was terrified & just wanted to forget the whole thing & move on. i was so scared that my little darling would be snatched from me again. but i agreed to do one interview & one only. with this dear friend of my mums who was a lovely writer & would occasionally do the odd story for readers digest. & I only agreed to do it if it was taped & I was able to say the whole truth. anyway i did the interview all recorded on a tape, but a day later I got paranoid & terrified again, that the family would punish me in some way for exposing them again - (which i did in japan searching for steve)so I pulled the pin on it & told her i wouldnt be going thru with it.
anyway...to cut a long story short, 2 weeks ago, this dear friend of my mums was going thru her recently deceased husbands "things" AND FOUND THE TAPE! ME AT 22, MY VOICE, THE TRUTH! it absolutely rivetting stuff. i was worried that i had exaggerated the facts over the years but in actual fact, it was quite the opposite. there is stuff on that tape that i had either forgotten or blocked out & it was all much worse than id remembered - or chosen to.
