I really do understand your questions and I asked him some of the same ones, though I had been able to previously find out a bit more of what happened. The same lies we were told, he was told on a much larger scale. He was pretty young then. Like us.
Russ figured it out pretty quickly and left. He did spent a great deal of time and effort looking for us but, as you will remember everyone was removed from Vancouver and Seatle, names changed and we were told he was a total enemy.
I hope he will post his story here one day, it's quite a tale of COG desception and thievery. I think if you want to be angry at someone, you might want to look at Deb, who knew her dad was a manipulative lying pervert, and showed up with dancing singing blind entourage to seduce and take absolute control of the situation.
I know it's opening a can of worms and I procrastinated for a while when I got his #. But I'm glad I did finally contact him.
