And if we can get over our cult mindset we can see that their often very different from the stereotype Berg painted for us. He made them sound so bad that we'd be ashamed to go to them. Leave the Family and your a lukewarm compromiser. Yet churches are so different from each other you can really find good caring ones. Part of the problem is that Berg taught us to be so judgmental and self-righteous tht we don't give sincere Christians a chance. We prejudge them.
I understand some people have had a bad experience with real strict controling churches (maybe before or after the Family) and that's different than simply rejecting other Christians simply because that's what Berg taught us. They've got their legitimate opinion too, but I think the key is to not prejudge all churches and real Christians simply because of a bad experience with one or two.
