I was with Ho in Macau in 1981 I think, where we all lived in a makeshift village on the Island of Coloane. Ho had mellowed quite a bit by then but boy Esther was off her rocker! They were crazy times and extremely traumatic at the time. Twenty something years later its not so painful. I was lucky, I got out when I saw the warning signs of kids being taken away and sent to other countries. It wasn't easy either but thanks to a great mum I escaped with both of them before they were scarred too deeply.
