If you want a well-reasoned argument for Christianity without any derogatory statements about other religions, read C.S. Lewis' short book, "Mere Christianity". In the 1940's Lewis was asked to do a series of talks on the BBC defending essential ("mere") Christianity, and this book was edited from those talks. He starts with the idea of why we should believe that there's a God at all, and goes from there.
It's considered a classic, so libraries usually have it. If you want to own a copy, they're usually priced at under $7. Used copies are widely available on the internet for even less money.
