Yes, if I view Jesus as you described Him, a person plugged into something greater, I have a great respect for Him.
What causes me to choke is what the religion of Christianity has done to Christianity itself, or the true essence of the teachings of Jesus. Even Paul it seems was not free of the culture or traditions of the day, as shown in his views on women. But aside from Jesus, Paul is my next favorite Bible character.
