It's just wonderful that you can be there for your mother. I will never forget when I got the news that my father had died and they wanted me to come to the funeral. I was in Thailand and got the news only after the funeral was over. We had used a phone number from a friend as we didn't have a phone and by the time they got the message to me, it was all over. The guy looked at me with a smile and said, "oh well, next time." I know he was trying to be polite and didn't understand what he was saying, but boy that hurt. I will always be sorry that I wasn't around for my father when he died. I am glad that I came back and had at least 10 years with my mom before she passed away. I know it made her very happy. I know you made your mother happy by being there for her.
