I did struggle with my faith in major ways before I left, realizing that the "Family faith" was not true Christianity. I resolved much of that before leaving, so that when I left it was a matter of getting back to true Christianity and away from the warped polluted counterfeit. Maybe it helped that I was a Christian before I joined, so I didn't have to wonder how a "bad" group like the Family could be responsible for introducing me to Jesus. That would have been a real mind-bender and I know lots of folks have to deal with that one. It's a much harder, longer process, and understandably it's like a huge Gordian Knot that seems impossible to unravel, so, like Alexander the Great, a lot of people pull out their swords and cut it in two.
