I was in the jungles of Peru in a mission trip when I stumbled upon a group of people who called themselves "brethren". Those I saw were all from the USA but there were many more, about 100 of them living in a commune. They had a couple of other places along one of the big rivers and lots of communication gear plus a landing strip. The leaders would come to States every so often. The interestinbg part is that these were selah-type of places where only a handful of people would have contact with the outside world. They plot the land and harvested the bulk of their food and only got the rest from the town nearby.

Maybe the Family has the same type of vision, a place for old folks (old missionaries) who will have to work the land to grow their food. They will live in isolation from the rest of the world, maybe even their own children and grandchildren, living a life of contemplation they are dreaming. The only thing is that the conditions these people were living was very hellish in a jungle-like environment with high temperatures and all of that.

If the family leadership has something like this in mind, I wouldn't be surprised that the followers might even consider it some form of heaven. What crazy world they are building.
