There's no way you could get my wife to even think for one moment that God was not at work when she joined the Family in Spring of '72. She was not a hippy, she was a sincere Christian seeking for a place of service in God's Kingdom. Just last week she visited her brother's and he had her personal diaries that he's stored away. It was really something to read them right up to the time she met the Family and joined.
The year prior to her joining is all about her quest of God's will, where and how to serve Him. So, she had no doubts at all about joining the Family from the first day she met them.
She hates Berg and what he ended up teaching and doing as much as anyone, but she does doesn't believe for a second that God wasn't at work when she joined back in '72.
Ray's been writing a lot on this recently, on the GenEx board too, I identify with his points of view.
